My Visit to Michele Bras Toya (Hokkaido/Japan)

I was lucky enough to have a chance to visit Michele Bras Toya during this Golden Week in May.
Michele Bras is one of the top chefs in the world with his Michelin 3 Star restaurant in France.
There is a restaurant in Toya Hokkaido under his name with Michelin 2 Star in the 2017 Hokkaido Michelin guide.

There is a detailed intro on the official page if you are interested: https://www.windsor-hotels.co.jp/en/restaurant/michel-bras/

I had very high expectations of this place before getting there, and still, the service and the quality of food I got was beyond by expectations.
Apparently, the restaurant is open for lunch during weekends only, but since it was golden week, it was open on a Wednesday.

You can enjoy the panoramic view of Lake Toya from the restaurant . (Shame it was raining.)
Before getting to our table, we were introduced to the Chef Simone and the staff. It was very interesting to actually go in the kitchen and see behind the stage! Everything looked spec and clean!!

The lunch menu started off with the chef's nostalgic egg dish along side with a bread which had our surnames on it. That was a lovely surprise.

I was going to write tons on how all the dish were absolutely delicious & lovely but I feet photos describe the beauty on point......Therefore here are the photos!!

Also, on note, they use local produce as much as possible and combine it with French traditional ingredients which was refreshing and interesting to eat.

This is the Michele Bras' signature salad dish which was absolutely stunning with color and the tasted like heaven. I enjoyed every bit of it.
This was a very soft octopus dish. I normally do not like big octopuses because of the chewy texture in my mouth but this was soft and juicy!

This was the main dish. I regret not being able to take a proper picture but this was venison of Ezo deer. I had never tasted Ezo deer but this this was absolutely stunning!! There was crispy sauce on top of the venison and everything was orchestrated in harmony.
I would say I will come back and not regret my 4 hour flight & drive just to eat this!

Ahhh cheese, cheeese, cheeeeeeese!!
Then came this huge ice cream trolly.....
The trolly is especially made for this unique usage....

And after the ice cream I got a glorious chocolate and orange sauce filled cake.
At this point though, I thought I was going to explode.
Then came coffee!!! Hurrah!!!

This was not just a coffee though. The beans were so precious they are kept in a wine bottle and delivered from Guatemala.

To conclude, I had a wonderful dining experience at Michele Bras Toya and I would strongly recommend going there if you can rent a car from Sapporo. The whole dining experience does not betray your expectations.
I personally would love to take my parents there once my dad retires and saves himself from karoshi.

Also, we stayed at Windsor Hotel that night but the Hotel was good too.
Here is my blog on the hotel if you are interested:
